We need to sustain our motivation to complete a pro-democracy U- turn away from authoratarianism.
I’m just relieved we stopped the bleeding for our democracy. MAGA was scary. The Iran war I think is what really blew everything up. Such an idiotic move but that’s what happens when you elect an idiot that’s insanely poor at leading, that runs out any advisors that tell him things he doesn’t want to hear. Trump surrounded himself with sycophants and grifters and we all paid for it.
In two years, it could flip right back. If Democrats don’t stay focused on what matters most, what crosses party lines as truly popular, and also keep media coverage focused on these things vs, say, prosecution of Trump cronies, they will be back in hot seat for 2028. Time to release Epstein files, unredacted. Time to nullify executive tariffs. Time to force an end to iran war. This will take time and won’t immediately change much, but it’s a start that will hopefully get country in better shape come 2028. They start with transgender rights bills, medicare for all, impeachment of trump etc… they’ll be instantly stuck in the mud because none of that will help people by 2028.
