I don't disagree with what you are writing. How do we "navigate" (that's my polite term) the situation we find ourselves in?

*A large portion (not a majority) of people don't disagree with what is happening and will find excuses for the behavior that is counter to our rights because they aren't affected by it.

*Another portion of people may disagree with it but don't feel they need to take action because they aren't directly affected--yet.

*The political system has been re-crafted to make it extremely difficult to correct the direction we are heading. When the majority government literally rigs the system (and he says his election was stolen) to their benefit, how do you make change in those legislative institutions that are the check on the executive? We have both tried to make that effort. You did better than I did. In the past there were "norms" that Congress would at some point acknowledge things have gone too far and take action (e.g. Watergate). Yet here we are. Too many of them are afraid to speak up for fear they will lose their jobs. They aren't concerned about the impact of these erosions as they don't believe they will apply to them.

*There were norms a president would follow and now we have a president who ignores them, in fact he blew right past them a long time ago.

*We have courts that continue to lean in favor of the president to an extreme we haven't seen before. And when there are courts that do find them accountable, who is supposed to enforce that? The same people violating the rights in the first place. So there is no enforcement of court orders.

I think you are preaching mostly to the choir here. We are trying to figure out what we can do to effect the change we need. We can protest. Maybe that will eventually catch someone's attention. We can contact legislators who conveniently are unwilling to speak with their constituents both in person or through other means. I don't need a response from Bernie Moreno's office. I already have it. He doesn't even bother to make it subject specific. Just one broad, general response about how he is looking out for us.

At least in rural areas, we have people afraid to put up campaign signs or publicly express support for minority party candidates. We need to find out how to get those who feel least impacted, but in disagreement, to take action of any kind. How do we do that?

And you can't have a discussion like this with out this cut from The American President

The Zionist that run the US would have already turned this country into EU/Australia/Canada if we did not have our constitution…that being said, they’ll just circumvent it via anti-Semitic laws, anti-Islam laws (read: there will be NO anti-Christian laws) and with the patriot act + palantir, you will have an assigned citizen score and if you Don’t have a social media presence, you will be required to create one or you will be similar to someone who has no credit and pays cash only. They NEED to know your stance on Israel, or you will be shutdown. You guys don’t hate this corrupt system enough.
